One hates to say, "I told you so" but sometimes...
One of the reasons I shut this site down were the violent attacks waged over my columns suggesting that the Mets bizarre handling of the Brooklyn team were hurting player development.
Well, now that it's become clear that not only is Norfolk sick and tired of the ways of the Mets — Hagerstown is too. In fact of all the minor league teams not owned by the Mets affiliated to them, only Binghamton didn't opt to fire them. Although sources suggest, with the Yankees taking over Scranton, maybe they should have, as team insiders worry that the solid Yankee fan base in the area will now just drive an hour south and see the Red Barons.
As you may know, other "credentialed" "journalists" claimed I was wrong and didn't know what I was talking about. All that proves is that amateurs should probably leave serious reporting to the professionals (like me, with 23 years of professional writing and editing experience) and return to whatever is it they're really suited for. —MM
