Not Dead, Just Recovering

Posted Thursday, October 26, 2006

Sorry for the lack of posts...but things are kind of dead in the baseball world, other than the World Series. Yawn.

I've been rushing to complete the newest Web site of the Brandywine New Media empire, www.tektruth.com — a consumer electronics site — which debuts formally next week. TT is probably going to end up being my no. 1 commercial site, as this likely will be here for fun more than anything.

Heck, even my blog, which deals with local Pennsylvania politics has seen a big spike in traffic — with the elections coming, it makes sense. So, as always, it is a balancing act.

On the Mets' front, maybe the best news is this: that they have one more good reason to consider dealing uber-prospect Lastings Milledge. Based on his play in the Arizona Fall League and the whispers of the scouts I talk to, Fernando Martinez has better skills, will likely hit for more power, has a better arm and plays defense. In addition, as one scout put it, "Martinez doesn't have the baggage. He's a polite, nice kid."

Don't be shocked if Martinez ends up in the Binghamton outfield in 2007 and Milledge has a new address before spring training.—MM
