Whether it was a tech glitch or attack, this site was taken down Sunday morning.
I'm in the process of installing a new/old content management system and should have everything back up and running by Monday or Tuesday.
It also means that it's possible some of the old old content from this site will return — the columns/stories and so on from May through Sept. that were taken down when I took down the old site.
Update: solid progress is being made in restoring the content from version 2.0 of this site and we should be back in business by late this afternoon. It's still unclear whether I was hacked — although the company I buy Web hosting space from (and act as a reseller) seems to think it more likely than a server issue. They're working on the access logs and said they will forward them, if there are other IPs than mine seen FTPing into my site, to the proper authorities as they do with all such cases.
I'm not holding my breath on anything happening, to be honest.
